Mr. Connolly will give us his personal account of his brother’s descent into alcoholism and how it destroyed him, his family and his law practice. He will relate his experiences and the lessons to be learned from that tragic story. Mr. Connolly will cover the warning signs of alcoholism, one’s gradual descent into dependency, interventions, State Bar disciplinary actions, judicial interactions and interactions with other lawyers, the reaction and adaption of the lawyer’s employees, impacts on clients, and the ultimate outcome – which, sadly, was his brother’s death.
