In Person Programs
The SJCBA hosts several annual events that focus on members, including:
CLE Masters Series
January
Each January the SJCBA offers an accelerated study program of 12 hours of CLE credit. Attorneys can purchase packages that include all 12, 6 of them, or individual courses. Prices are substantially reduced for SJCBA Members.
New Lawyers Reception
February
In Partnership with the Bank of Stockton, the SJCBA co-hosts a reception for all attorneys newly admitted to the California Bar who practice in San Joaquin County. Judges, lawyers, elected officials, and other local VIPs attend, and it is a great opportunity for new lawyers to meet members of the local community.
Law Day Luncheon and Educational Programs
May
Since the 1950’s, the U.S. has recognized May 1 as “Law Day.” The SJCBA has a luncheon honoring residents who have made a substantial contribution to upholding the rule of law as fundamental to democracy. College students interested in a career in law are invited to attend, in addition to judges, lawyers, law enforcement professionals, and others dedicated to the rule of law.
Annual Membership Meeting
November
Each November, SJCBA Members meet to elect new Board of Governor members and to get an update on the State of the Bar from the SJCBA President.
Through the SJCBA Foundation, a variety of scholarships are offered by different Sections of the Bar. For more information, please contact Robert Oakes at .
